Big rain drenches Douglas County

Heavy rain pummeled Douglas County this morning and afternoon.

The rain poured down so hard and fast that it caused flooding in low-lying areas, including in a familar spot -- Legion Park in Alexandria. Flooding was also reported in the downtown construction area around Hennen's Furniture.

The skies are expected to at least partially clear later this afternoon and tonight. More rain is in the forecast for Friday and some showers are expected on Saturday as well.
