Beware of this phone scam

Email News Alerts

Douglas County residents should be aware of a phone scam demanding payment for electricity bills.

On Saturday, April 12, a rural Alexandria small business received a phone call from a scammer claiming to be from Runestone Electric Association. The scammer said the payment received a month ago was not honored by the bank and if payment was not made, someone would be out to disconnect their electricity in 30 minutes.
