Bernardy joins Echo Press staff
Dana Bernardy is the newest addition to the Echo Press advertising staff.
Bernardy, who is originally from Benson, explored Florida, Nevada and Canada before returning to her home state in 2008. She will work as both a customer service and sales representative for the local newspaper.
Bernardy moved to Glenwood four years ago but it wasn't long before she found herself in Alexandria.
"We just moved into the Voyager district last year and love it there," Bernardy said. "Alex offers a variety of opportunities, not only for me but for my children, Addy and Lily, as well."
In 2009, Bernardy received her degree in business administration and management from American Intercontinental University.
Bernardy has held a diversity of positions throughout her career, including bartending, public relations at Tastefully Simple, debt collecting, outside sales, office manager for Desman Engineering and talent recruiting for ProStaff. She has gained a wealth of experience to apply to her new role at the Echo Press.
"I could definitely be the jack of all trades," she said.
As part of her customer service roll at the newspaper, Bernardy will be able to add flexibility to multiple departments. While wearing her sales hat, she will have the opportunity to venture into the community to form partnerships with local merchants, not only in Alexandria, but in the surrounding area as well.
When Bernardy is not in the office she enjoys reading, camping, spending time with her daughters and DIY projects.
"I love to get my hands dirty with any little project I can think up," Bernardy added.
