Benefit set for Michael Drietz
There will be a Belgian waffle feed benefit and silent auction for Michael Drietz on Sunday, December 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Eagles Lodge, 526 North Nokomis, Alexandria.
Drietz was diagnosed with stage four non-operable colon cancer on July 19, 2013. He is currently unable to work due to his rapid health decline.
Drietz has farmed in the Douglas County area for more than 30 years. He and his wife, Barb, enjoy spending time with their five grandchildren, who range in age from 1 to 7.
Funds raised will help defray medical and living expenses.
The menu will include waffles with various toppings and syrups, sausage links, juice, milk and coffee. Carry out plates are available. Free will donations will be accepted.
