That series with the Stingers continued Wednesday night and Thursday before the Waterloo Bucks come to town tonight (Friday) through Sunday night.

Willmar 7, Beetles 2

Three Alexandria errors in the third inning helped lead to five unearned runs for Willmar and a 7-2 loss for Alexandria Tuesday night.

Michael Suchy and Kenny Roberts each had two-run hits to put Beetles' starter Ali Simpson in a 5-0 hole.

Alexandria came back with a pair of runs in the fifth as Matt Lowenstein poked a one-out single and Tanner Vavra's double sent Lowenstein to third and an RBI ground out by Ben Moore brought Lowenstein home. This was Moore's 52nd RBI of the season, which leads the league.

Vavra scored the other run on a wild pitch with Will Fulmer at the plate.

Willmar tagged on another run in the sixth and one in the seventh off reliever Andrew Busby.

Simpson took the pitching loss after going four and a third frames. He gave up five walks, but did strike out five as well. Busby and Caleb DeLee both saw work in relief.

Lowenstein had a pair of hits in the game as did Vavra, who had his 11th multi-hit game of the 15 he's played in this season.

Beetles 9, Rochester 5

Jon Reed found the strike zone early and often Monday night, striking out 11 batters as the Beetles handed Rochester a 9-5 loss.

Reed allowed just two runs and two hits in the game, not allowing a walk in his eight-inning stint on the mound.

Will Fulmer went 4-for-4 at the plate on offense, scoring once and driving home three runs.

Dylan Raper had one hit to drive in two runs as he capped Alexandria's scoring with a two-run homer in the seventh, while Robert Case went 4-for-5 with a double and two runs batted in.
