Baseball: Brandon-Evansville wins three more
The Fourth of July weekend was jam-packed with action for the Brandon-Evansville Bluedog baseball team as they played three games in three days, winning all three.
Friday, the Bluedogs cruised to a seven-inning 11-0 shutout over the Kensington Norsemen.
Mike Bruns threw a complete game, two-hit shutout to pick up the victory.
On Saturday, Brandon-Evansville needed just eight innings to dispatch Clarissa, despite having fallen behind 2-0 early on.
Five runs in the fifth and five more in the seventh helped the Bluedogs build a big lead.
Matt Bruns pitched his way to the victory, throwing seven solid innings. Matt Kruize pitched the eighth to preserve the victory.
Sunday's game saw Brandon-Evansville make short work of the Ashby A's as they won 15-5 in seven innings.
In the annual "fireworks" game, the Bluedogs continued their hot hitting and Travis Santjer pitched three solid innings for the win. Kruize finished out the final four innings to wrap up the win.
The Bluedogs are now 9-2 on the season and have won nine straight games.

The Bluedogs will wrap up the regular season against Carlos on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Long Prairie on Sunday at 2 p.m. Both games will be played in Evansville.
