The West Central Area girls’ basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to pull out a 49-38 win at home over St. John’s Prep Friday.

Holly Van Kempen led the Knights’ scoring with 12 points, and Abby Van Kempen also finished with 10. Three other Knights finished with more than five points as Christina Kruize scored eight, Tiana Christenson scored six and Doranna Blascyk also scored six.

“We did not play at the caliber we’d like, yet we were able to hold out and get the win,” head coach Beth Hill said.

The Knights are now 8-2 overall and 5-1 in Prairie Conference play.
