B-E puts up 10 runs against Parker Prairie

The Brandon-Evansville baseball team used 14 hits to drive in 10 runs against Parkers Prairie in Evansville on Friday.

James Huisman led the Chargers’ offense by going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Kevin Campbell also picked up three hits for the Chargers at the plate with one RBI and one run scored.

Head coach Brian Perleberg was happy to see the Brandon-Evansville offense jump out to a four-run lead by the end of the third inning.

“Today was a good day for our offense as seven different players collected base hits,” Perleberg said. “We came out and put the ball in play right away and were able to move runners around the bases.”

Cody Lund picked up the win on the mound and Huisman also pitched in relief. Perleberg was relieved to see an improved defense by the Chargers as the team only committed two errors.

“Cody Lund and James Huisman complemented each other on the mound as both pitchers kept Parkers Prairie from putting together any big innings and allowed their defense the opportunity to make plays,” Perleberg said. “Our defense played much better today than we did in our other two games earlier this week, which hopefully is a sign of things to come.”

The win improved the Chargers to 10-2 overall this season.
