B-E boys basketball punches ticket to Great Eight Tourney

The Brandon-Evansville sixth grade boys’ basketball team will play at the Great Eight Pacesetter Tournament at the Target Center in Minneapolis July 12-13 after taking second at the state tournament on June 15.

The team competed at the College of St. Benedict for the Pacesetter state championship, where they finished as the runner-up. Brandon-Evansville beat teams from Fairmont and Detroit Lakes before falling to Lake City in the championship.

The top two teams advancing from Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota will all play for the championship of the four-state region at the Great Eight Tournament in July.

The Brandon-Evansville team has put together a 46-2 record throughout the season. They are coached by Trever Schiele and Dan Johnson and will play a team from Dubuque, Iowa this Saturday, July 12 in the Great Eight Tournament.
