Audition set for 'A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody'
Prairie Wind Players in Barrett will hold auditions for their late summer production of A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody, a combination comedy and mystery by Ron Bernas.
The story starts on New Year's Eve at the Matthew and Julia Perry mansion as the couple makes their annual resolutions. Matthew vows to off his wife by the end of the year. Julia vows to stay alive.
A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody pays homage to the screwball comedies of the 1930s and '40s.
The six-member cast includes roles for four males, with one character age 20-30 and three ages 40 or older. The two female characters are older than 20 and 40.
Auditions will be held Monday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 2 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Roosevelt Hall in Barrett. Auditions will include performing a humorous prepared monologue and reading scenes from the script with other actors.
Rehearsals will include three to four evenings a week. Performances will be held August 22-25. For more information, call Kathy at (320) 986-2822.
