ATC child care conference features author, illustrator
An annual child care conference, Caring for Kids and Those Who Care, will take place Saturday, October 10 at Alexandria Technical College (ATC).
The keynote session will feature the well-known Minnesota children's author and illustrator of more than 50 children's books, Nancy Carlson. Her keynote, "A Time to Visit and Draw with Nancy," will give participants some hands-on time as she teaches the audience how to draw characters.
Two breakout times will include sessions around such topic areas such as:
Ready ... Set ... Grow (a look at preschool screenings);
Cavity Free Kids;
Getting Ready to Read: Understanding Early Literacy; and
An Overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
A certificate for 5.5 clock hours is available or .5 CEUs and vendors will be available. A continental breakfast, lunch and vendors will also be part of the day's agenda.
