Ashby loses four-set match to WCA

The Ashby Arrows fell to section opponent West Central Area in a four set match last Thursday in Barrett.

West Central Area won the first set 25-19, but head coach Andrea Knick said the Arrows nearly pulled out the win with a strong start.

“We started off strong and just didn’t act quick enough in that first set to get a win, but I felt like the girls were playing really well,” Knick said.

Ashby rebounded to win the second set 25-21. After the second set, West Central Area was able to adjust their play and win the final two sets.

The Arrows’ offense was led by Alexis Ness, who picked up 12 kills. Cassandra Jordan led the Arrows on defense with 17 digs in the match, and Amber Sundal provided 16 assists.

The Arrows are now 5-9 overall, and 2-2 in Little Eight Conference play.
