Artists, authors, scholars present 'Everyone Has a Story' workshops
The "Everyone Has a Story" program continues with a special summer program offering opportunities to learn, explore and enjoy Alexandria with visiting and local artists, authors and scholars.
Visiting artists include award-winning author and poet Athena Kildegaard, University of Minnesota film enthusiast Steve Benson, and celebrated public artist Marcia McEachron. McEachron is installing Alexandria's first public art sculpture this summer.

Rachel Barduson, local historian, will lead tours to explore Alexandria history - some on foot, some by boat, some by bus.
The "Everyone Has a Story" series is a unique partnership of area organizations joining together to offer interactive experiences for the community to explore story and history through a variety of perspectives.
Partners include Alexandria Adult Education, the Douglas County Historical Society, Friends of the Library, Lakes Area Theater, Alexandria Branch of American Association of University Women, Diversity Resource Action Alliance and the Alexandria Cultural Inclusiveness Committee.
Special funding was provided by the Minnesota Humanities Center and Alexandria Community Foundation.
