Area volleyball: Underwood 3, Ashby 2

The Ashby volleyball team had a tough time getting its offense going Tuesday in a three-set loss on the road to Underwood.

Head coach Andrea Knick said Underwood was able to find holes in the Arrows’ defense and did a good job moving the ball.

“It felt like we were playing catch-up on every point of the match,” Knick said. “We will adjust where we need to and get ready for Hillcrest coming to our gym on Thursday.”

Madison Van Santen led the team with 11 assists and 15 digs. Alexis Ness had seven kills to lead the Arrows’ offense.

Ashby will close out the season with a home match on Tuesday against Rothsay.
