Area veterans benefit expo coming to Morris Armory Saturday, October 11
Pope and Stevens counties will host a Veterans Benefits Expo on Friday, October 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, 722 Iowa Avenue, Morris.
Military veterans of all ages are invited to the event where they can learn about employment opportunities, housing and shelter information, drug and alcohol treatment, mental health counseling, family counseling, education assistance, medical assistance, legal assistance and information about a host of other programs to assist veterans.
Free haircuts and a free meal will be provided. Family and friends of veterans are also welcome.
This event is coordinated by a committee consisting of veterans advocate Kayci Wendland, Pope and Stevens counties veterans service officer Hugh Reimers, Pope County probation director Terry Jaworski, Pope County commissioner Gordy Wagner, Stevens County commissioner Phil Gausman, former Stevens County commissioner Paul Watzke, district court reporter Cheryl Torgerson, and district judge Jon Stafsholt.
