Area music students recently participated in the National Federation of Music Clubs Festival at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria. The annual event is sponsored by the Central Lakes Music Club (CLMC).

For most events, students learned and memorized two pieces. The students are judged on various aspects of their playing, receiving a score based on individual performance.

There were entries in piano solo, piano duo, piano hymn playing, voice, woodwind, strings and theory. Those who received superior ratings were invited to play in a Superior Winners Recital on March 3.
