Area players on UMM teams
Osakis graduate Kendall Proell is averaging seven points per game for the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougar men's basketball team this season, with a total after nine games of 63 points.
Proell, a senior guard, also has 24 rebounds for an average of 2.7 per game, and leads the team in steals and assists with 26 and 31 respectively.
Kyle Bruns of Brandon-Evansville has also played in all nine games, and has 23 points on the season for a 2.6 per game average.
He has also pulled down 21 rebounds for an average of 2.3 per game, and had six assists and three steals. Bruns is a sophomore forward.
Osakis' Stephanie Roggenbuck, who plays for the UMM Cougar women, is the leading scorer on the team after nine games with 91 points, a 10.1 points per game average.
She also leads in rebounding with 54, averaging six per game, and had 12 assists and six steals for the team. Roggenbuck is a junior forward.
Laven on Cougar grid team
Nick Laven of Osakis, playing football for the Cougars, finished the season with one passing touchdown as he caught 10 passes for 133 yards. He also had one assisted tackle for the season.
Laven was a senior wide receiver on the team.
Kris Peterson, also of Osakis, is a junior offensive lineman.
