Area musicians join together for a benefit concert
Area musicians will come together to perform a benefit concert for the Alexandria Senior Center on Sunday, November 24 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 605 Douglas Street, Alexandria.
The concert was originally planned to be a joint venture between First Lutheran and Calvary Lutheran but grew as more and more area musicians expressed an interest in taking part.
The Calvary Lutheran organist, Amy Engel, will perform solo organ works. Brass Menagerie, a brass ensemble made up of musicians in the area, will also perform.
First Lutheran musicians Randy Morken and Nathan Doege will play a work written for piano and organ. Also on the program is a quartet of musicians from the Central Lakes Symphony who will perform works written for piano, oboe, flute and cello.
The Alexandria Area Men’s Chorus, a recently formed group under the direction of Steve Deitz, will also perform.
There is no cost for the concert. A free will offering will be accepted to benefit the Alexandria Senior Center.
