Apply now for regional arts grant
Lake Region Arts Council (LRAC) is now accepting applications for the next Legacy Grant Round. The deadline is midnight on Tuesday, May 7.
LRAC's board, comprised of representatives from each of the nine counties in LRAC's service area, will review the Legacy Grant applications at its June meeting.
Minnesota's Legacy Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund is made possible with money from an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature.
Since January 2010, LRAC has awarded a total of $815,432 in Legacy grants to public schools, colleges and universities, arts organizations, cities, nonprofit organizations, and individual artists in the nine county LRAC region.
Examples of projects that could be funded include an artist residency, a performance or art demonstration, public art, community art or music workshops and more.
For prospective grant applicants, LRAC is providing a free Legacy Grant writing workshop on Wednesday, March 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. at LRAC's office, 133 South Mill Street, Fergus Falls.
The workshop, presented by Betsy Ostenson, LRAC grants manager, features interactive training on the components of the Legacy Grant application. All participants will receive tips on writing and submitting their grant application.
The training is open to the public. Register at LRAC4.org/services/workshops.asp, by e-mail at LRAC4@LRACgrants.org or by phone at 1-800-262-2787.
The deadline to register is Tuesday, March 26.
