Annual poetry night features favorite poems, local authors

The community is invited to attend the 19th annual Coffee House Poetry Night on Thursday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Evansville Art Center, 111 Main Street, Evansville.

It will be an evening of poetry, including presentations of readers’ favorite poems, poems read by the author and a visual poem submitted by 6-year-old Alessandra Barsi of Washington, D.C.

The host for the evening is Stephen Henning. Everyone is welcome to read a poem or simply listen. The event will continue the tradition of beginning the evening with In Flanders Fields.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a treat to share. Coffee and lemonade will be provided. A freewill donation will be accepted.

This activity is supported by a grant from the Lake Region Arts Council through a Minnesota State Legislative appropriation.
