Andrew Walesch to perform at ‘Hot Days, Cool Jazz’ event
Andrew Walesch, an emerging artist on the Minnesota music scene, will lead his jazz trio in an outdoor concert on Sunday, July 20 at 4 p.m.
The event, entitled “Hot Days, Cool Jazz,” is hosted by and will take place at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Alexandria as part of its 2014 Summer Concert Series.
The performance is open to the public. A free will donation to benefit the Douglas County Outreach Food Shelf will be accepted.
Walesch graduated with a music degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville. He maintains an active performance schedule recording jingles, producing shows, composing and arranging, and singing as a solo artist and with big bands across the Midwest.
He has ventured outside of jazz and the standards, playing anywhere from cocktail lounges to piano bars.
More recently, he has focused on song writing and is working on a project of originals. He has recorded two albums and has performed on the stage of The Bluebird Café in Nashville, the Chicago Theater, The Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis and across the Midwest. He also appeared on Mountain Stage on National Public Radio.
