Commencement will be held in the Jefferson High School gymnasium at 1401 Jefferson Street in Alexandria. During the ceremony, outstanding students from each program will be presented with merit awards.

The college enrolls approximately 4,000 students annually and offers certificates, diplomas, associate in science degrees, associate in applied science degrees and an associate in arts degree.

This year, Caitlin Jorgenson will deliver the address. She is the daughter of David and Lynda Swinney, formerly of Brooten.

Jorgenson graduated from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa High School in 2009, where she was involved in speech, drama and music. She now lives in Glenwood with her husband, Zach, and their daughter, McKenna.

Jorgenson will graduate from ATCC with a liberal arts and sciences Associate in Arts degree and plans to take some time off to be a stay-at-home mom. Her long-term goal is to go back to school to obtain a bachelor’s degree in education and teach English. Eventually, she hopes to coach speech and drama.

The Honorable David Paskach will represent the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and assist with the presentation of degrees.

Family and friends of graduates are invited to the ceremony. Doors open at 5 p.m. There will be chairs set up on the floor in the back for the elderly and people with disabilities on a first-come basis.
