The GSE program is a unique, four-week educational travel experience for professionals focused on building international understanding and cross-cultural connections.

While in Minnesota, team members stayed with local Rotarians and had the opportunity to meet their professional counterparts. They also gave presentations about their home country to Rotary clubs and other groups.

The GSE team was agriculturally oriented, with a specific focus on vocations relating to the grain trade, including grain farmers, breeders, farm cooperative representatives, engineers and technicians.

While in the Alexandria area, local Rotarians took the team to various sites including the John Ledderman farm near Brandon, the Brandon Pro-Ag plant, Riverview Farms in Morris, Douglas Machines and Douglas Scientific. Later, the team enjoyed a tour of Paul Anderson's classic tractor and car collection and went for a trail-ride near the Anderson home.

Host families included Larry Zilliox, Rick and Sandy Paulsen, Rod and Linda Eldevik, Tim and Marianne Moe, and Patty and Howard Peterson.

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service and help to build goodwill and peace in the world. They live by the Rotary motto, "Service and Self." The Alexandria Rotary Club currently has 82 members.
