Alexandria man charged after bar fight
A late-night fight outside Depot Express in Alexandria April 1 resulted in injuries and an arrest.
The Alexandria Police Department responded to an assault at 1:26 a.m., according to a news release issued Friday.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a large group of patrons in the parking lot. While investigating the incident, officers uncovered that there had been a fight resulting in injury to one of the combatants, who was transported to the Douglas County Hospital and then to the St. Cloud Hospital where he was treated and later released.
An investigation led to the arrest of Eric Peery, 22, of Alexandria and he was apprehended a few hours later.
Peery was charged with third-degree and fifth-degree assault.
The victim, Terrence McGrath, 26, of Long Prairie, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct. The victim suffered lacerations to his face and a possible broken nose, authorities said.
According to police, there were several witnesses to the altercation.
