Alexandria loses 2-1 in St. Cloud
After allowing the game-tying goal to St. Cloud Tech with four minutes remaining, the Alexandria boys soccer team could not score in overtime and fell 2-1 on Thursday evening.
After a scoreless first half, Spencer Lucas scored in the 62nd minute to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by Kevin Roedel.
But St. Cloud Tech tied the game with four minutes left in regular time.
After neither team scored during the remainder of regular time, St. Cloud Tech broke the tie in the third minute of overtime and held on for a 2-1 win.
Alexandria had nine shots on net in the game, and St. Cloud Tech had 20 shots with goalkeeper Zach Lamb turning away 18.
