Alexandria Legion to play Osakis in tournament finals Sunday

The Alexandria Legion baseball team picked up three wins on Friday and Saturday to advance to its home Fourth of July Tournament championship to face Osakis at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Knute Nelson Ballpark.


Alexandria won two games on Friday to start the tournament, defeating Glenwood 15-1 and Oakdale 11-1. On Saturday night Alexandria defeated North St. Paul 6-2 to advance out of pool play to the tournament championship.

Osakis started the tournament with a 15-4 victory over Worthington in its first game on July 4. The next day, Osakis won two games to help it advance out of pool play into the championship. Osakis defeated Starbuck 11-6 and Oakdale 5-0.
