Alexandria girls lose to Armstrong, will play for third place Saturday

Robbinsdale Armstrong handed Alexandria its first loss of the season 77-68 on Friday night in an opening round game of the Cardinals’ holiday tournament.

Alexandria led 48-41 at one point in the second half, but Armstrong was able to pull away for the nine-point victory.

The Cardinals will now play in the third place game of the holiday tournament on Saturday at 5 p.m. against Moorhead.

The team will also recognize all the program’s alumni between their third place game and the championship game, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
