Alexandria Covenant summer concert features Connie Lee
Alexandria Covenant Church will present a free summer concert featuring Connie Lee Cunningham on July 16 at 7 p.m. on the church lawn, 4005 Dakota Street, Alexandria. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
A Nashville, Tennessee, recording artist, Cunningham grew up near Urbank. Her career includes performing with the Grand Ole Opry Road Show and working side by side with Chet Atkins in Nashville.
While in Nashville, she also worked with Minnie Pearl, Charlie Pride, Ray Price, Ricky Nelson and Merle Haggard.
Cunningham plays the piano, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, dobro, steel guitar, auto harp and the bagpipes.
She and her husband, Kevin, own and operate Tennessee Roadhouse in Alexandria.
