Alexandria couple wins trip to super bowl
Senta and Rick Hoffman, Alexandria, won a trip to this year’s Super Bowl through a Midwest Dairy Association and Supervalu sweepstakes resulting from the grocery chain’s support of Fuel Up to Play 60.
The Hoffmans registered after seeing the sweepstakes in a coupon book generated through the campaign and at their local store, Pete’s County Market in Alexandria.
They traveled to the Super Bowl in New Jersey on Sunday, February 2 for the game between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks.
Last fall, nearly 400 of Supervalu’s independently owned retailers spanning from Washington state to Ohio encouraged people to participate in Fuel Up to Play 60, which helps motivate kids to eat healthy and be active 60 minutes a day.
Supervalu raised $70,000 to support school grants in conjunction with the program.
Midwest Dairy Association is funded by dairy farmers in a 10-state area including Minnesota.
The Super Bowl trip was funded by Midwest Dairy and similar organizations across the Supervalu trade area.
