Alexandria couple dies in rollover in Kansas

An Alexandria couple died in a rollover north of McPherson, Kansas yesterday, Thursday.

They are Kay Dianne Pautz, 69, the driver, and her passenger, Gary Walter Pautz, 70.

The accident happened at 3:55 p.m., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Pamela Pierce, 56, of Hutchinson, Kansas was driving a Nissan Rogue and cut in front of the Pautz’s Ford Expedition while attempting to pass it, according to the patrol.

The Expedition hit the rear of the Rogue and swerved out of control, rolling across the median and into the ditch.

The Pautzes, who were both wearing seat belts, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Pierce was listed as having a possible injury, according to the patrol.
