Alexandria boys' tennis: Cardinals fall to Tech
The Cardinal tennis team ran into a buzz saw in St. Cloud Tech last Thursday night as the Tigers completed a 7-0 sweep in Central Lakes Conference action.
The Tigers controlled every match, winning in straight sets at every spot. Alexandria's Jacob Strand and Payton Grandgenett and Nick Partington and Andrew Storm pushed Tech the hardest but still fell 6-2, 6-3 at second and third doubles, respectively.
"Tech is a very solid tennis team from top to bottom," head coach Dave Ronning said. "They really don't have any weaknesses to speak of and the Cardinals did not have one of their better nights."
