The Warriors stayed within striking distance for much of the first half, but the Cardinals took a 34-20 lead into the break. They stretched that out in the second half behind a balanced effort of four players with at least eight points. Amanda Christianson led the way with 19. Brooke Heggie added 16, while Karly Betterman had 11 and Kendall Kohler finished with eight. Macy Hatlestad also did a little bit of everything with four points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists.

“We remained consistent after the half, playing tough position defense and executing together on the offensive end to pull away for the win,” head coach Wendy Kohler said.

Alexandria shot 50 percent from the field on the night. The Cardinals were set to embark on a three-game road trip now with their first of those three games coming last night, Thursday, at St. Cloud Tech. They will be in Bemidji tomorrow before going to Willmar next Tuesday.
