Fifty-eight 4-H youth leaders from nine counties in West Central Minnesota attended the 4-H Apps Youth Leadership Conference February 11-12 in Alexandria, including 14 youth from Douglas County.

The conference, which focused on leadership and team-building skills, was planned and run by 10 regional ambassadors who worked with 4-H staff to offer large and small group presentations and hands-on activities. Guest speaker Ron Domschot of the Douglas County Food Shelf talked with the participants about the mission and needs of food shelves. Youth then participated in a service learning project, creating Birthday Bags to donate to food shelves.
