4-H daycamps planned for summer
With its summer daycamps, Douglas County 4-H offers youth the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new games and have summer adventures. This year, there are four daycamps for youth who have completed grades K-4:
Wednesday, June 26: Power Up at Alexandria City Park. Learn how electricity, wind, water and the sun light up the world.
Wednesday, July 17: Art Outdoors at Lake Osagi Park, Osakis. Explore the world of art. Enjoy a day of crafts and fine arts with hands-on activities and colorful projects to take home.
Wednesday, July 24: Out of this World at Evansville Elementary School. Learn about space, rockets, planets, the solar system and more. Enjoy games and have lots of fun.
Friday, August 16: County Fair at Douglas County Fairgrounds, Alexandria. Spend the day at the county fair. Go on barn tours, enjoy a treat at the food stands and play games.
Daycamps begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Youth are asked to bring their own sack lunch.
Registration is $7 per person for each day camp or $25 for all four camps. Register one week prior to camp. To register or for more information, call (320) 762-3890, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit the Douglas County Extension Office at 720 Fillmore Street, Suite B090, Alexandria.
