4-H celebrates Awards Night
Douglas County 4-H held its annual 2011-12 awards night celebration on Saturday, November 10 at 6 p.m. at the Douglas County Public Works building in Alexandria.
The evening began with dinner and a slide show, sharing interviews with 4-H alumni and members in partnership with the Minnesota Historical Society. Dinner was followed by ice cream dessert served by Rod and Linda Eldevik of Alexandria Rotary.
Rachel Barduson of Alexandria Rotary opened the evening with a welcome and words of advice. 4-H members were recognized for the following accomplishments: best secretary, outstanding project awards and scholarships from Alexandria Rotary, Alexandria Elks, Alexandria Golden Brothers Lions and the Thornton Family for 4-H career youth leadership.
In addition, Friends of 4-H and adult Volunteers of the Year were honored.
