4-H camps offered this summer
The following 4-H camps are being offered this summer:
Go Green 4-H Residential Camp offers swimming, boating, a waterslide, walking trails, campfires, archery and crafts. Open to all youth completing grades 3-6. Camp dates are June 23-25 at Camp Koronis in Paynesville. To register or for more information, contact the Douglas County Extension Office at (320) 762-3890. Registration deadline is May 29.
Shiver Me Timbers 4-H Mini Resident Camp is for youth completing grades 3 and 4. It will be held at Smokey Timbers Camp near Miltona July 13 and 14, arriving at 1 p.m. and departing the next day at noon. To register or for more information, contact the local Douglas County Extension Office at (320) 762-3890.
4-H is open to anyone grades K-13. The youth developmental program offers 4-H clubs and adventures, such as 4-H camp. For more information, call the Douglas County Extension Office at (320) 762-3890.
4-H'ers attend counselor training
Youth from a 14-county area attended 4-H Camp Counselor Training April 4 near Morris. During the nine-hour training, they learned to understand different age groups, teach games and songs, plan a 4-H camp and they learn basic first aid. All 4-H camp counselors are required to attend.
