33 crashes reported in region within 24 hours
Ice is still causing problems on roads in the area.
During a 24-hour period from yesterday, Monday, until today at about 9:30 a.m., Minnesota State Troopers kept active and remain active responding to several crashes and other calls for service.
A light snow covering that continues to hit the area is making roads slippery and difficult to travel, according to the State Patrol.
Troopers in the west central and northwest regions of Minnesota responded to 59 vehicles that had slid off the roads. Troopers is these regions also responded to a total 33 crashes, 18 of which were rollovers, seven of those crashes resulted in minor injuries.
Statewide during this period, troopers responded to 526 vehicles off the road, 470 property damage crashes, and 110 injury crashes.
Yesterday, I-94 from Moorhead to Barnesville contained a majority of the activity. Today, Highway 10 from Moorhead to Detroit Lakes has a majority of the activity. Motorists are advised to slow down, pay attention and wear seat belts.
