The crowning of the 2014 Douglas County Dairy Princesses was held Sunday, April 27 at the Corral in Nelson. The competition is sponsored by the dairy promotion check off, which helps build demand for dairy products.

The princesses include Heidi Krueger, daughter of Willis and Mary Krueger; Tayler Waldvogel, daughter of Bruce and Deb Waldvogel; and Carissa Koudela, daughter of Alan and Mary Beth Koudela.

Krueger graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall in May of 2014 and plans to enter the master’s degree program in athletic training at North Dakota State University in July.

Waldvogel is attending St. Cloud Technical and Community College and plans to attend Rasmussen College next year to pursue a career in nursing.

Koudela is a sophomore at Minnesota State University Moorhead, majoring in early childhood education, and hopes to become a preschool teacher.

During their reign, the princesses will represent the dairy industry in the promotion of dairy products at parades, events, grocery stores and banks.
