Raeshel Betterman | Echo Press One of the many crashes that happened over the holiday weekend was a two-vehicle accident on Highway 29 North near the Lake L'homme Dieu beach at about 12:30 p.m. Friday. It involved a van and one person was injured but the injuries were not life threatening, according to the State Patrol.

Minnesota state troopers were busy throughout the snowy New Year's Eve weekend.

From the time the winter storms started on Thursday, December 30, until Monday, January 3, troopers in the west central and northwest regions responded to approximately 621 vehicles that had ran off the road, many of those receiving minor damage.
