ORDINANCE NO. 668
AN ORDINANCE VACATING
18TH AVENUE IN THE PLAT OF "JOHNSON ESTATES"
WHEREAS, the City has received a request from property owners in "Johnson Estates" to vacate a platted street.
WHEREAS, the City and the local utility companies have no current need for said street, and
WHEREAS, the future street needs for this area are addressed by a proposed realignment and rededication of a public street in the preliminary plat of "Rosewood Meadows", already approved by the City, and
WHEREAS, the City's Home Rule Charter requires that such vacations be done by Ordinance, approved by a four-fifths vote of the Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALEXANDIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I: That 18th Avenue as dedicated in the plat of "Johnson Estates" is hereby vacated.
SECTION II: That a record of such vacation is to be made in the office of the County Recorder.
SECTION III: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Alexandria, Minnesota, this 13th day of June, 2011, by the following vote:
