Photojournalist brings Cuba images to Evansville

Hola, Cuba!, a photo exhibit by area native Barbara La Valleur, opens at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6 and will be on display at the Evansville Art Center through Nov. 18.

The public is invited to meet La Valleur, an international photojournalist, from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6.

La Valleur, who has exhibited at the center several times, will feature 40 photos culled from over 5,000 photos taken on a recent trip to Havana and Matanzas, Cuba. A former resident of Ashby and Battle Lake, La Valleur and her husband live in Edina. All photos are for sale with a percentage going to support the art center.

La Valleur spent 20 years in England and Germany, the last few years working full-time as a freelance photojournalist for seven German newspapers.
