Ivan Joseph, named 2006 Coach of the Year by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, will share his inspirational message on the power of self-confidence at Impact Alexandria next week. The 14th annual event will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Lake Geneva Christian Center.

Joseph, who led a losing collegiate soccer team to a national championship in five years, will share tips on how to build self-confidence in oneself and others. He will identify the attributes of self-confident people, offer techniques for self-talk and self-affirmation and discuss how failure can be used as a tool for personal development.

"Each year, Impact Alexandria draws in top talent to our community as part of this annual event," Knute Nelson president and CEO Mark Anderson said in a news release. "This is an opportunity for us to educate and equip our staff with practical and relevant information we face in our daily life, our organization and our community."

Impact Alexandria was launched in 2003 by Tastefully Simple, inc., in partnership with local business sponsors. The event brings top motivational speakers to share insights and expertise with the Alexandria community and region. Past speakers include Amanda Gore, Jack Canfield and Stephen R. Covey.

Tickets for Impact Alexandria 2017 cost $65 for adults and $10 for youth 18 and under. To purchase tickets or for more information on sponsoring the event, find Impact Alexandria on Facebook, visit impactalexandria.com or call 1-888-759-2908.
