Jefferson High School seniors to perform music recital

Lauren Hagstrom and Ally Timm, seniors at Jefferson High School (JHS) in Alexandria, will present a violin and piano music recital on Saturday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at Shalom Lutheran Church in Alexandria. The recital is free and open to the public.

 They will perform a variety of solos and duets.

Solo performances by Hagstrom will include Vivaldi Concerto, Meditation from Thais, Ashokan Farewell and Accolay Concerto.

Timm’s solo performances will include Iberian Nocturne, Evening at the Village, Winter Rhapsody and Fantasia Appassionata.

In addition, each will perform a piece with her siblings. Hagstrom will perform with Olivia and Avery. Timm will play with Laura, Brienna and Zachary.

Hagstrom’s private instructor is Dean Dainsberg. She has been concert mistress for the JHS orchestra for the past two years. She has also been part of Rainbow Strings and the Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra for the past three years under the direction of Brad Lambrecht.

She plans to attend the University of Northwestern this fall, majoring in music education.

Timm has played piano for the past 10 years under the instruction of Ruth Aaseng. She has participated in a variety of music festivals, including the Minnesota Music Teachers Association Music Festival.

She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall, majoring in biochemistry.
