Library board member needed for three-year term

The Douglas County Library board is in need of a new member.

The governing body of the library is composed of seven members who are appointed by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners from recommendations submitted by the current library board.

Library board trustees work with the library director to promote the library's mission to provide equal access to resources and facilities that meet informational, recreational and cultural needs of all Douglas County citizens. They also set library policy and spend public funds wisely to meet the ever-changing needs of the community and technology.

Currently, one member is needed to fill a three-year term. The library board meets the third Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. in the library meeting room.

All members must be Douglas County residents. Application forms are available at the circulation desk at the library.
