• Clara Olson, Lisa Henrichs and Carly Henrichs of Hair Profiles Salon and Day Spa in Alexandria attended classes in Fargo, North Dakota on April 5-6. The Art of Hair included lessons on Scruples hair color and Gelish gel nail polish. On May 4, Olson and C. Henrichs attended the Salon and Spa Professionals Association 90th annual meeting at the Crown Plaza in Plymouth.

• American Solutions for Business (ASB) was recently presented a Bronze Supplier Award by MedAssets for providing value, implementing cost reduction strategies, and offering clinical and improvement resources to health care clients of MedAssets. ASB earned the award based on a set of professional partnership criteria and as the result of benchmarks relating to the level of social responsibility ASB demonstrates.

• Dakota Supply Group, an employee-owned company headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota, and with a facility in Alexandria, was named the 2014 ESOP Company of the Year by The ESOP Association. The award was presented at the Association’s 37th annual conference in Washington, D.C. The ESOP Association is the national trade association for companies with employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and the leading voice in America for employee ownership.

• Susan Keehn and Catie Houck from Someplace Safe were trained and certified in Green Dot, etc. on May 7. Green Dot is an organization built on the premise that people can measurably and systematically reduce violence within any given community. Green Dot works toward two primary objectives: content development and training. Informed by the latest research from across disciplines, as well as research conducted on its own content, Green Dot develops programs, strategies, curricula and training courses designed to address power-based personal violence across settings.

• Todd Froemming of Baxter was elected to the Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union (MMFCU) Board of Directors at the organization’s 2014 annual meeting. Several board incumbents were also re-elected to subsequent terms, including Jason Anakkala, Theresa Goble and Rhonda Smith. Froemming will replace outgoing board member Eryk Haapajoki. Froemming is senior technical consultant and co-owner of Syvantis Technologies, covering all aspects of accounting systems from pre-sales to implementation and ongoing support. MMFCU has a location in Alexandria.
