Hardee's to add Red Burrito menu

Biscuits, burgers and now - burritos. Hardee's in Alexandria is converting its restaurant at 605 50th Avenue West (by Interstate 94) to a dual-branded Hardee's/Red Burrito location.

On Wednesday, May 2, the addition of the Red Burrito menu will give Hardee's customers a chance to change it up by ordering Mexican fare, including burritos, hard and soft-shelled tacos, combo platters, nachos, taco salad and more.

All the new entrees are prepared with all-white-meat chicken or seasoned beef. The signature "Red Burrito" is made with chicken or beef, refried beans, rice and salsa, wrapped in a warm flour tortilla and topped with red sauce and melted jack and cheddar cheese.

The newly-converted Hardee's/Red Burrito will still serve its popular Hardee's menu and the new Red Burrito menu will be available on May 2.

All Red Burrito products will be served after 10:30 a.m. The restaurant will be open daily, with both inside dining and drive-thru service.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Minnesota franchise group MRG Management.

"We are pleased to offer our customers new variety with the addition of the Red Burrito menu served alongside the Hardee's menu," said Leah Pidde, marketing manager of MRG Management. "Our Red Burrito menu features high quality ingredients, real chicken and steak products and a variety of Mexican fare."

The dual-branding program began at sister chain Carl's Jr. in 1994, when the first Carl's Jr./Green Burrito restaurant was opened in Carson, California.

It proved successful, and Hardee's was soon to follow suit. There are now close to 90 dual-branded restaurants across the Midwest and Southeast, but this will be the first in Minnesota.
