Alexandria Industries is finalist for state ethics award

Alexandria Industries is a finalist for the 2014 Minnesota Business Ethics Award (MBEA).

A steering committee for MBEA announced the finalists last week. Alexandria Industries is in the large company category, along with Marvin Windows and Doors of Warroad, and Restaurant Technologies Inc. of St. Paul.

The MBEA recognizes businesses that exemplify, raise the bar and promote ethical conduct for the benefit of the workplace, marketplace and community.

Alexandria Industries provides customized aluminum extrusions, precision machining, heatsinks, plastic injection and foam molding, high-level assemblies, finishing and welding services.

Through its values, corporate absolutes and brand promise, Alexandria Industries’ leadership put in place guidelines and a united passion to be an organization that benefits its employees, customers, and communities, among many other stakeholders.

“We live our values and we care about our employees like family. It is what we do,” said Tom Schabel, CEO, Alexandria Industries. “We openly share our values with our customers to help ensure our actions and behaviors are in alignment with what they experience.”

He added that the company built its culture based on actions that display the highest level of honesty, trust, professionalism and ethical behavior, while providing a work environment that others respect and admire.

The MBEA recipients will be announced at a luncheon on Wednesday, May 14 at the Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis.

The keynote speaker for the luncheon, Mary Brainerd, president and CEO of HealthPartners, is one of Minnesota’s most respected leaders.

The MBEA was founded by the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Twin Cities chapter, and the Center for Ethical Business Cultures (CEBC) at the University of St. Thomas, Opus College of Business.

Joining those two organizations as a sponsor is the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) of Minnesota.
