Curves recognized as part of Women's Health Week

The Alexandria City Council formally declared May 17, 2012 as the inaugural National Curves Day. A proclamation was signed by Mayor Dan Ness on May 14.

National Curves Day was initiated in celebration of National Women's Health Week, May 13-19, in partnership with the Office on Women's Health. Hereafter, National Curves Day will fall on the Thursday following Mother's Day, during National Women's Health Week.

"National Curves Day is a day to celebrate our members and all the women of Alexandria who have taken responsibility for their health, and a time for us to honor all citizens and organizations whose fundraising and awareness efforts have improved the lives of the women in our community," said Curves of Alexandria owner/manager, Kim Olson.
