Habitat announces new board member, officers

Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County (HFHDC) recently elected a new board member and new officers. Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County (HFHDC) recently elected new board member Ken Pederson. The board also elected officers Irene Vagle, president; Nick Heydt, vice president; Joyce Moe, treasurer; Marie Anderson, secretary and Jan Finazzo, past president.

Other board members include Chad Coauette, Julie Critz, Mark Deterding, Dian Lopez, Jeff Montgomery and Lynndene Way.

Mayor Sara Carlson installed the new directors and officers at their organizational meeting on Thursday, July 17. The board of directors also recognized outgoing board member Tim Cullen for his contributions to the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

“We welcome our newest board member, Ken Pederson, to our team. We are thankful for the energy, creativity and dedication all of our board members bring to our mission,” said Lori Anderson, HFHDC executive director.

The board of directors is the governing body and sets policy for the local affiliate, including development, building site selection, partner family selection and support, volunteer coordination, church and public relations, ReStore, home construction and mortgage servicing.
