Forbes names Affinity Plus 'Best Credit Union in Minnesota'

Global media company Forbes has named Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union as tops in Minnesota in its Best-In-State Banks and Credit Unions ranking.

"Over the past five years, we've made substantial changes as a credit union, and outside organizations are starting to notice the strength we've built for our members and employees," said Affinity President/CEO Dave Larson.

Forbes compiled its list based on surveys of more than 25,000 customers. Forbes said that the banks and credit unions were rated on overall recommendations and satisfaction, as well as trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services and financial advice.

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives, owned by members and democratically controlled by volunteer boards of directors.

The Forbes listing is the fourth honor Affinity Plus has received in the past few months from media groups, including "Favorite Financial Institution" by the Minnesota Women's Press and "Top CEO" by the Star Tribune as well as No. 7 in that newspaper's Top 150 Workplaces awards.

Based in St. Paul, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union has 29 branches throughout Minnesota, including one in Alexandria.
